STATUS QUO

As we all know by now, the traditional billboard has evolved and we have seen a rapid expansion of 
roadside billboards in the South African urban landscape.

According to Outdoor Auditors, there are currently over 200 OOH media owners in South Africa
operating approximately 13 500 billboards. Of these 282 are digital, accounting for just over
2% of the site universe (Source Outdoor Auditors Feb 2020 Report).

The entire advertising market in South Africa in 2019 is estimated to be worth 30.4 billion
South African rands, This is according toAdvertising spending in South Africa 2018-2021,
by (Source Medium Published by A. Guttmann Mar 15, 2021).

Black media owners however only get a small chunk of the reported 1.25 billion South African
rand OOH industry, Our objective is to promote and to protect the interests of the association and
its members, while serving the needs of consumers, advertisers, and the public.

We aim to fight and change the status quo and inequalities regarding OOH
Media in South Africa for our generation and the next.
